Harris County ESD 12 Fire Department Engine 14 assisted the Port of Houston Fire Department for a ship compartment fire at an Industrial Road dock. The fire was initially brought under control by ship crew members. The Galena Park Fire Department also provided assistance.

On January 9, 2023, Firefighters on Engine 24 quickly extinguished a vehicle fire near an apartment at 695 Normandy.

On January 5, 2023, Harris County ESD 12 Fire Department along with neighboring fire departments provided automatic mutual aid assistance to the Sheldon Community Fire Department for a building fire on Unison Road in Sheldon. Sheldon Community Firefighters quickly controlled the fire as automatic mutual aid fire units arrived.

At a Public Meeting, on January 19, 2021, the Commissioners of Harris County Emergency Services District 12, unanimously adopted to rebrand the Department’s name to Harris County ESD 12 Fire Department. The purpose of the change was to better reflect the geographical areas (Cloverleaf and North Shore areas) that are within Harris County Emergency Services District 12.
