FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER, DRIVER AND CAPTAIN POSITIONS (24/48 Shift)

    Applicants for Driver Positions must also electronically attach a copy of their TCFP DOP Certification; Applicants for Captain Positions must also electronically attach a copy of their TCFP Instructor I Certification
  3. Electronically attach a copy of your Courage to be Safe Certification
  4. Electronically attach a copy of your Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  5. Electronically attach a copy of your TDSHS Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B
  6. Electronically attach a copy of your NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification; Applicants for
  7. Electronically attach a copy of your Valid Texas driver’s license Applicants for the Firefighter Position must attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A, B, or C Driver’s License; for Driver Positions and Captain Positions, applicants must electronically attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A or B driver’s license.

Compensation:

  • Firefighter: $65,338.50 to $68,377.50 annually after 6 months of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Driver: $77,494.50 to $80,533.50 annually after 6 months of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Captain: $86,611.50 to $89,650.50 after 6 months of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)

Must Meet or Exceed Minimum Qualifications to be considered Eligible for Employment (SEE BELOW)

Firefighter Minimum Qualifications:

  • 19 Years Old or Older
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B Certification
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
  • If 21 Years Old at Time of Employment – Obtain a Texas Class B Commercial License Permit within 90 Days of Employment
  • Obtain a TCFP Driver Operator Pumper (DOP) Certification within One Year of Employment, if 21 Year’s Old at Time of Employment

Preferred Qualifications for Firefighter Positions: Texas Class B Driver’s License and a TCFP (DOP) Certification

Driver Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 Years Old or Older
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two Continuous Years of Full-Time Experience with a TCFP Regulated Fire Department
  • Obtained a Minimum – TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Minimum – TCFP DOP (Driver Operator Pumper) Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B Certification
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class B Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications for Driver Positions: TCFP Instructor I Certification; and TCFP Fire Officer I Certification

Captain Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 Years Old or Older
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Four Continuous Years of Full-Time Experience with a TCFP Regulated Fire Department
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtain a TCFP Fire Instructor I Certification
  • Obtained a TCFP Fire Officer I Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a TDSHS Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
