FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER, DRIVER AND CAPTAIN POSITIONS (24/48 Shift)

  4. Electronically attach a copy of your Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  5. Electronically attach a copy of your TDSHS Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B
  6. Electronically attach a copy of your NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification; Applicants for
  7. Electronically attach a copy of your Valid Texas driver’s license Applicants for the Firefighter Position must attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A, B, or C Driver’s License; for Driver Positions and Captain Positions, applicants must electronically attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A or B driver’s license.

Compensation:

  • Firefighter: $62,299.50 annually up to $65,338.50 after one year of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Driver: $68,377.50 annually up to $74,455.50 after one year of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Captain: $75,975.00 annually up to $82,053.00 after one year of employment (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)

Benefits:

  • Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): 240 Hours; PTO balances exceeding 96 Hours at the end of Annual PTO period are paid out.

MUST MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ELIGIBILITY (SEE BELOW)

Firefighter Minimum Qualifications:

  • 19 Years Old or Older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Preferred Valid Texas Class B driver’s license

Driver Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 Years Old or Older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression
  • 2 continuous years of full-time experience with a TCFP regulated Fire Department
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications for Driver Positions: TCFP DOP, Instructor I; and TCFP Fire Officer I

Captain Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 Years Old or Older
  • 4 continuous years of full-time experience with a TCFP regulated Fire Department
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Have or obtain a TCFP Fire Instructor I Certification within one year of employment
  • Have or obtain a TCFP Fire Officer I Certification within one year of employment
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a TDSHS Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Have or obtain NIMS 300 and NIMS 400 within one year of employment
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications for Captain: Fire Officer II and NIMS 300 and 400
