FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER AND DRIVER POSITIONS (24/48 Shift)

  2. Electronically attach a copy of your TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
    Applicants for Driver Positions must also electronically attach a copy of their TCFP DOP Certification
  3. Electronically attach a copy of your Courage to be Safe Certification
  4. Electronically attach a copy of your Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  5. Electronically attach a copy of your TDSHS Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B
  6. Electronically attach a copy of your NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  7. Electronically attach a copy of your Valid Texas driver’s license

Applicants for the Firefighter Position must attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A, B , or C Driver’s License; for Driver Positions, applicants must attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A or B driver’s license.

TESTING/INTERVIEWS: Eligible applicants will be notified of interviews and/or test dates and times. Applicants must score 70% to be placed on a Candidate Eligibility List. The Candidate Eligibility List will remain in place for 1-year or until exhausted of candidates. Interviews will be scheduled as position openings occur.

Compensation:

  • Firefighter: Starting – $62,299.50 annually (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Firefighter: Completion of First Year Up to – $65,338.50 annually (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Driver: Starting – $68,377.50 annually (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Driver: Completion of First Year Up to – $74,455.50 annually (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)

Benefits:

  • Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): 240 Hours; PTO balances exceeding 96 Hours at the end of Annual PTO period are paid out.

MUST MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ELIGIBILITY (SEE BELOW)

Firefighter Minimum Qualifications:

  • 19 Years Old or Older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Preferred Valid Texas Class B driver’s license

Driver Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 Years Old or Older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression, TCFP DOP, and TCFP Instructor I Certifications
  • Preferred 4 continuous years of full-time experience with a TCFP regulated Department and a TCFP Fire Officer I Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a Federal Highway Administration Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications for Driver:  TCFP Instructor I; and TCFP Fire Officer I
